As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve seen my share of breathtaking scenery, beautiful people, and; of course, exquisite weddings. That being said, it’s not every day I get to photograph such perfectly partnered people.
Together Rob and Steph are all at once witty and charming, open and reserved. They’re one of those special couples that are a joy to watch, their love for one another and their exuberance in being together is evident from the first moment you meet them.
Steph; being from East Grinstead, chose Swithun’s Church as the perfect place for her and Rob to exchange vows. Inside the church the lighting was lovely and soft, and the banisters and archways were ornate and colorful, together providing a traditional and beautiful atmosphere for the ceremony. After the vows we moved to the East Court Estate to celebrate in the Meridian Hall where the lush countryside views provided a lovely backdrop for mingling as well as group photos.
There were so many wonderful moments throughout the day with family and friends gathered together, sharing laughter and making memories; even Steph’s grandparents were able to attend—and they traveled all the way from China to do so! This wedding was really fun to be a part of. One of the most memorable parts; besides the vows, of course, was listening to a very funny and touching speech by Rob followed by a performance from his band, which included two of his groomsmen.
All in all, the little details added up to a perfect day. The dress from Catherine Deane was ethereal and light; the food, catered by Caroline Brussel, was delicious and meticulously plated. The flowers were assembled by the bride and some helpers, each bouquet was colorful, and charmingly complementary to the traditional setting at Swithuns. It was a beautiful place to be.
I am so grateful to be able to shoot for couples like Rob and Steph. Being given the opportunity to capture their love, and the love and joy of their family and friends, is exactly why I am a wedding photographer. Thank you for letting me share in your special day.
